In einem Interview tätigte Marcelo folgende Aussage zu seinem möglichen Wechsel zu Real Madrid:

"I cannot talk about my future," he said.

"There has been no agreement reached yet, I still have to analyse what is best for me and my club.

"I feel the support from the technical staff and my team-mates, and at the moment I am defending the Fluminense shirt."
